Abstract

This article is dedicated to Magnus Strandqvist's famous doctoral thesis “Studien über die kumulative Wirkung der Röntgenstrahlen bei Fraktionierung. Erfahrungen aus dem Radiumhemmet an 280 Haut- und Lippenkarzinomen” published in Acta Radiologica in 1944. After a short biography of Strandquist some central points of his work and their influence on future development of modern radiotherapy are presented.
