Journal of Rehabilitation Medicine (JRM) is an international, non-profit, Open Access journal, publishing articles on a broad range of topics within the field. Owned by the Foundation of Rehabilitation Medicine, JRM aims to be a leading worldwide forum for research in physical and rehabilitation medicine, and to increase knowledge in evidence-based clinical rehabilitation. Contributions from all parts of the world and from different professions in rehabilitation are welcome.

Publication Fees
Publication fee
Upon editorial acceptance of an article the corresponding author will be issued with an invoice for payment of an Article Processing Charge (APC), to cover the costs associated with running the journal. Please note that no articles will be published until the APC has been paid. The APC depend on the article type and the journal follows the HINARI/Research4Life waiver policy for developing countries.
Short communications (up to 2000 words/1-2 illustrations, or max 4 pages): EUR1040
Full papers: EUR1750
Comments to earlier published papers: Free
Supplementary material involves a fee of 25 €/file to cover administration costs, but video files will be published free of charge.
We advise prompt payment of the APC so that the article can be published as soon as the article proof has been approved.
Attention authors in Sweden: Publish for free through our agreement with Bibsam
Authors in Sweden affiliated with the institutions listed below may be eligible to publish open access in JRM at no cost to the authors. Medical Journals Sweden has reached an Open Access agreement with Bibsam which is designed to simplify the publication process for all parties. The agreement allows you to publish accepted articles at no cost to the authors, with no limitation on frequency, by means of an institutional pre-payment agreement for articles. Eligible institutions include:
- University of Gothenburg
- Karolinska Institute
- Linköping University
- Uppsala University
- Örebro University
- Mälardalen University
This agreement comes into effect as from January 1st 2023, and covers all articles with an acceptance date past this date. To be eligible you need to:
- be affiliated with a participating Bibsam institution listed above
- be the corresponding author for the manuscript
- conduct the research mainly at the affiliated institution
- use your institutional domain email for submission and publication
- inform the editorial office of your eligibility upon submission of your manuscript by indicating this in the “Bibsam eligibility information / Comments for the Editor” field.
