Pseudoporphyria and sunbeds.

Five cases of pseudoporphyria with recurrent blistering and skin fragility especially of the hands are described. Porphyrin studies were normal. The histopathological investigations in three of these cases showed subepidermal bullae consistent with porphyria cutanea tarda. All patients had considerable sunbed exposure before symptoms appeared. One patient was taking naproxen, a weak photosensitizer.Downloads
