Publication Fees

An Article Processing Charge (APC) is applicable for all published articles. There are no fees for submission or supplementary material.

The standard Article Publishing Charge (APC) per article is EUR 2,150 or USD 2280.

Letters to the editor and Editorials do not incur an APC.

Please note that these charges may be subject to local taxes depending on your location.

Payment of the APC is required prior to the online publication of the article.

We offer discounts and waivers to authors from developing countries, as defined by the HINARI/Research4Life waiver policy. The extent of these discounts can range from 50% to 100%, contingent upon the location of the corresponding author's institution.

Additionally, we consider requests for discretionary waivers from researchers who do not meet the criteria of the policies mentioned above. However, it's important to note that these discounts must be applied for and approved by the Chief Editor during the submission stage.

Swedish authors enjoy free publication in Acta Odontologica Scandinavica based on a new agreement between BIBSAM and MJS Publishing

Authors based in Sweden and affiliated with institutions that are members of BIBSAM consortia can now publish open access articles in Acta Odontologica Scandinavica at no charge.

This initiative is made possible through an Open Access agreement between MJS Publishing and BIBSAM, streamlining the publication process for all involved parties. Through this agreement, Swedish authors can publish various types of accepted articles without incurring any costs, thanks to the collaboration with BIBSAM and Swedish research funders.

Eligibility for this arrangement applies to authors affiliated with participating BIBSAM institutions. The agreement, effective from January 1st, 2024, covers all articles accepted on or after this date.

To qualify, authors must meet the following criteria:

  • Affiliation with a participating BIBSAM institution
  • Serving as the corresponding author for the manuscript
  • Conducting the research primarily at the affiliated institution
  • Utilizing their institutional domain email for both submission and publication

Additionally, authors must communicate their eligibility to the Editorial office upon manuscript submission. This can be achieved by specifying the eligibility details in the "Bibsam eligibility information/ Comments for the Editor" field, if applicable.
