Following careful consideration, the Acta Odontologica Scandinavica Society (AOSS) has decided to discontinue the publication of its journal Biomaterial Investigations in Dentistry (BIiD) as of December 31, 2026. The journal will no longer accept new manuscript submissions from July 1, 2026. Manuscripts submitted before July 1, 2026, will be handled according to the usual editorial procedure.
We sincerely thank all contributors and supporters whose engagement has been vital to the journal’s success.
Biomaterial Investigations in Dentistry is a Diamond Open Access peer-reviewed journal, publishing research in oral biomaterials science. The publishing of articles is free for authors, thanks to the support of Acta Odontologica Scandinavica Society (AOSS), a not-for-profit society.
The journal welcomes submissions from around the world. The scope of the journal includes all basic and clinical aspects of oral biomaterials science in dentistry.
The quality of published scientific papers is ensured by the peer review process. Finding researchers willing to review is becoming increasingly difficult.
