Young Author Award

Supported by the Acta Odontologica Scandinavica Society (AOSS), this award acknowledges the best paper published by a young, first author in Biomaterial Investigations in Dentistry the previous year.

The award consists of a monetary prize of €5,000 and a diploma.

Eligible candidates and evaluation procedure

Candidates are first authors who at the time of submission of their manuscript are within 10 years of completing their last terminal degree (PhD, DDS, MDM, MS etc.).

Evaluation of the papers is based on the following criteria: originality of study, suitability of study design, presentation of results, and readability of the paper.

During the first quarter of a given year, the Editor-in-Chief and the Associate Editor evaluate the candidate papers of the previous year and furnish the AOSS board with a prioritized list of the candidates and their respective papers. The AOSS board decides on the winner(s) at the annual AOSS board meeting held in first/second quarter each year. The winners are subsequently contacted as well as announced on the BIiD’s webpage, in a BIiD editorial on social media.

If you are eligible for this award, you report this upon submission.
