Open access policy

All content published in Biomaterial Investigations in Dentistry is made available with immediate open access. This means that you, as a user, can read the content without the need to pay or register.

The authors of content published in Biomaterial Investigations in Dentistry retain the copyright to their works. Articles, as from volume 11 (2024) are published under the terms of a Creative Commons license (CC-BY 4.0). This license permits sharing, adapting, and using the material for any purpose, including commercial use, with the condition of providing full attribution to the original publication. 

Articles are published as soon as the final proof is approved and the publication fee is paid. All articles are assigned a DOI number (Digital Object Identifier).

Authors are encouraged to deposit the final published version of their article on their personal website or in an institutional archive immediately after publication.

When publishing articles in Biomaterial Investigations in Dentistry, the authors grant first publication rights to the Acta Odontologica Scandinavica Society. In consideration of the publication of the article, the authors grant Biomaterial Investigations in Dentistry the license to:

  1. Publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and store the article worldwide in all forms, formats, and media now known or as developed in the future, including print, electronic, and digital forms.

  2. Translate the article into other languages, create adaptations, summaries, or extracts of the article. It's important to note that authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources.

For commercial use of articles published under the previous CC-BY-NC license, if relevant, all requests to reuse the article in whole or in part will be managed by the Editorial Team. Any permission fees will be retained by the journal owner and invoiced by the publisher. In these terms, "commercial use" refers to any use primarily intended for or directed toward commercial advantage or monetary compensation, including the provision or distribution (including by way of hyperlink) of the article (including any abstract, figures, or tables) in any format.
