The immunohistochemical localization of p53 protein was examined in skin tissue sections, including normal vascular endothelial cells and the skin tissue sections from lesions of granuloma telangiectaticum with proliferation of vascular endothelial cells and malignant hemangioendothelioma, a malignant tumor originated from vascular endothelial cells. It was found that p53 protein was positive in 2 out of 4 cases of malignant hemangioendothelioma. Thus, immunohistochemical detection of p53 protein proved useful in the diagnosis of malignant hemangioendothelioma.Downloads
