Phalangeal osteomyelitis due to nail biting.

The authors report a 39-year-old man who developed a phalangeal osteomyelitis of the right thumb in consequence of nail biting. Cultures grew Staphylococcus aureus. Treatment with intravenous teicoplamine 400 mg/day for 3 weeks resulted in complete cure of infection.Downloads
